Wendy Cabrera Rubio (b. 1993, Mexico City). She graduated from the ENPEG “La Esmeralda” and later entered the SOMA Educational Program. Cabrera Rubio´s work is characterized by a series of crossings that go beyond the boundaries between high and low culture, image and object, narration and action, through textile and theatrical work or through the historical study of mass culture, specially cartoons and animation. Thus, she explores the relationships between aesthetics and ideology present in the mechanism of production and distribution of images. Her processes involve rewriting, archival review and collaboration with other disciplines. Recurring themes in her work include biotechnology, the resurgence of the far right and the Pan-American project.

Wendy Cabrera Rubio (1992, Ciudad de México). Cursó sus estudios de licenciatura en la ENPEG “La Esmeralda” y posteriormente ingresó al Programa Educativo SOMA. La obra de Cabrera Rubio se caracteriza por trabajar una serie de cruces que traspasan los límites entre alta y baja cultura, imagen y objeto, narración y acción, a través del trabajo textil y teatral, o por el estudio histórico de la cultura de masas, especialmente de la caricatura y la animación. Así, explora las relaciones entre estética e ideología presentes en los mecanismos de producción y distribución de las imágenes. Sus procesos implican la reescritura, la revisión de archivos y la colaboración con otras disciplinas. Los temas que suelen ser recurrentes en su producción son la biotecnología, el resurgimiento de la ultraderecha y el proyecto panamericano.
